2017 District 1 Rising Star

Sarah Yunits
Communications Specialist
Massasoit Community College
Brockton, MA

Sarah Yunits joined Massasoit Community College with a background in public relations and state government but quickly displayed the depth of her communications talents. She has an artistic eye and her creativity and ability to execute has made her an integral part of the creative team at MCC. Yunits understands the dynamics of integrating design and measurable outcomes into innovative campaigns and has completed a full design overhaul of MCC’s major college publications including the student handbook and college catalog.

In her three years at Massasoit, both internal and external constituents have come to know they can depend on Yunits. According to her supervisor, finding a colleague who possesses the multi-faceted skills needed to jump in and contribute no matter what is needed is rare. Sarah Yunits fills that role at Massasoit. She is a great resource to the department in terms of managing multiple projects, and the quality of her work is superior. She maintains a high level of diplomacy and integrity, which has helped to enhance not only her department but the institution as a whole.

Yunits is a quick learner and seeks opportunities to grow and learn. She’s attended numerous NCMPR District 1 and national conferences and easily fosters professional relationships. In 2016 she volunteered to to serve on the District 1 conference planning committee. This year, she served as the Medallions chair and was a roundtable presenter. In spring 2018 Yunits will present at the national conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Good things are on the horizon for Massasoit Community College and for Sarah Yunits, NCMPR's District 1 2017 Rising Star!
