Abner “Ace” Caguioa is a team builder and natural leader with experience in fast-paced environments. He brings his motivation and excellent public speaking skills to his position at Irvine Valley College (IVC). Caguioa is a tech-savvy employee with skills in graphic design, event coordination, and programming, sales, and social media management.
Since taking over IVC’s Instagram account in October 2019, Caguioa has grown its number of followers by 62%. The account has been cited as an example of good social media practices and brand identity, thanks to its high-quality photos and videos, clear messaging, easily accessible highlights and active use of Stories. He also works with IVC’s president on his LinkedIn account.
Caguioa leads across the college and was instrumental at helping IVC’s Classified Senate win the California Community Colleges Classified Senate’s Spirit Stick, during the Classified Leadership Institute in Riverside, California. Each college in the competition was judged by the previous year’s winner for its school spirit attire and performance. IVC’s Classified Senate brought a fierce, choregraphed performance to the stage, danced to Queen’s “We Will Rock You.” Caguioa does this frequently with his clever TikTok videos.
He is an amazing photographer and keeps IVC’s Flickr account full of beautiful, enticing photos of students, staff and campus.
