Jill Robertson is a perfect example of a Rising Star. Hired in 2014 by the Oklahoma City Community College student life office, Jill aspired to work for the OCCC marketing and public relations department. With no formal PR experience, her current supervisor took a chance on making her the new public relations specialist and has never regretted it. “Jill is a human 'Swiss army knife' - she can do it all. Her skills encompass writing, designing, photography, social media, and event planning."
Robertson officially joined the marketing and public relations team in 2015 and is credited with writing effective press releases, juggling social media, taking a lead role on event planning and jumping in to assist the busy design team. Beyond her job responsibilities, Robertson is considered “a total professional” with “every quality you would want in an employee. She is reliable, organized, smart, confident and has great instincts.”
Under Robertson's lead, Oklahoma City Community College recently earned a NCMPR District 4 Medallion award and an Oklahoma College PR Association award. Robertson continually looks for opportunities to expand her skill set, including participation at national and district conferences.
