2020 National Conference

March 22 - 24, 2020
Orlando, Florida

CANCELED

Magical. Memorable. Marketing.

NCMPR has CANCELED its upcoming national conference, scheduled March 22-24 in Orlando, Florida, due to rising concerns over travel and other issues related to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

The decision was not made easily and, in fact, NCMPR tried everything in its power to move forward with the conference as planned. However, circumstances beyond anyone's control led to the difficult decision.

Several reasons came into play when deciding to cancel the conference, but above all was a concern for the overall health and safety of members. Moreover, many had to cancel their plans to attend because of college-imposed travel restrictions and because as PR professionals, they're needed on the front lines to manage communications about campus closures and a myriad of other issues related to the coronavirus.

Next Steps

  • NCMPR will issue full refunds to all those who registered. Please give several weeks to process refunds. You'll be notified once yours has been processed – probably in late March or early April.

  • Be sure to cancel your hotel reservation at the Rosen Centre. You may call or go online. Call: 1-800-204-7234 or GO ONLINE (https://bit.ly/32x3kYH)

  • NCMPR's board of directors is committed to exploring alternative programming options, including – as some have suggested – repurposing the conference content into webinars and other resources for members. Stay tuned …

Rest assured, once again, that canceling the conference was a last resort. This is uncharted territory – and unprecedented. This is the first time in NCMPR’s 46-year history that a national conference was canceled.

Indeed, these are challenging times for all of us. Many, many thanks for your support, patience and understanding!
