What are Caleb’s biggest accomplishments since beginning at Hazard Community & Technical College (HCTC)? In just under two years, Caleb transitioned from coordinator of public relations to director of marketing & communications, a testament to both his leadership skills and impact. As coordinator, he re-energized the college’s media presence, writing compelling press releases; boosting social engagement; and ensuring consistent, timely communication during crisis situations. His ability to build strong media relationships and craft authentic, community-driven messaging significantly increased positive press coverage for the college. 

How does Caleb illustrate his dedication to HCTC? Caleb radiates the kind of energy, passion and purpose that you can’t teach – and that’s exactly what sets him apart as a rising star in the field. He brings a rare blend of creativity, strategy, humility and heart to every project. He’s a thoughtful communicator, a collaborative leader and a strategic thinker. He seeks out mentorship and feedback, asks great questions, and brings fresh ideas to the table, then follows through with excellence. Caleb is deeply rooted in his community, committed to telling the stories that matter in rural Kentucky. He’s also pursuing his doctorate in education while working full time, a clear sign that he’s all in when it comes to growing as a leader in education and communications. 

What skills does Caleb bring to his role? Caleb excels in media relations, crisis communication and campaign development. He builds strong, trust-based relationships with local and regional media outlets, ensuring the college’s voice is heard and its successes are shared. He’s also a calm and capable leader during high-pressure situations, providing clear and timely updates to internal and external audiences when it matters most.
