Under her guidance, CCBC has developed a strong, unified communications strategy that reflects its mission, engages the community and elevates its reputation. Leslie has built and nurtured a high-performing team that produces award-winning work. She’s strengthened the college’s brand while fostering an environment of creativity and innovation. 

How would you describe Leslie’s leadership style? Leslie leads with both strategy and heart, creating an environment where her team is empowered to succeed and grow. She fosters professional development by providing opportunities for her staff to take on new challenges, develop their skills and gain visibility within the field. Leslie’s leadership style is grounded in trust and collaboration. She ensures every team member understands how their work directly contributes to the college’s success. 

How does Leslie demonstrate a keen understanding of and skill in communications? She upholds and promotes the highest brand standards, ensuring every message aligns with CCBC’s values of integrity, excellence and service. Her work reflects a deep understanding of the role communications plays in student success, institutional growth and community engagement. By mentoring rising professionals, sharing best practices and advocating for strong brand and reputation management, Leslie contributes meaningfully to the evolution of the field. She is a trusted voice among her peers and a role model for communicators across the region. 

A 24-year veteran of the College’s communications team, Leslie Tennant leads community engagement, public and government relations, strategic communications and serves as the college's spokesperson. She is the PA representative for NCMPR District 1 and serves on the Public Relations, Advocacy and Advancement Commission for the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Originally from Beaver Falls, Leslie now resides in Canonsburg, PA with her family. Outside the office, you will find this mom of two in the stands or in the seats cheering on her favorite hockey player and performer.
