Summer Institute 2017

For Communicators and Presidents
Presented in Partnership with AACC

Thursday, June 22, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m
Friday, June 23, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Las Vegas, Nevada

Your president is the face of the college and, by extension, a significant brand asset. The relationship forged between the community college’s chief communicator and president can have a big impact on the how the college is perceived and received by its constituencies.

This one-and-a-half-day workshop – presented by NCMPR in partnership with the American Association of Community Colleges – will provide insights on how colleges can position their presidents to lead the brand charge. Specifically, it will focus on:

  • building the communicator-president relationship;
  • becoming informed about national higher education trends that can enhance the president’s platforms;
  • creating the president’s internal and external communication plan;
  • supporting the foundation’s need for the president as its chief spokesperson;
  • preparing the president for response to a crisis;
  • finding the right social media platform for the president; and
  • devising fun and engaging ways to highlight the president’s personality.

Communicators are encouraged to bring their presidents for this informative and interactive workshop.
