Awards That Reward Excellence
Rewarding excellence among two-year college communicators is one of many ways NCMPR supports the professional development of its members. All of the awards, in their own way, say "Job well done!"
The national Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at two-year community and technical colleges. It's the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.
The district Medallion Awards are similar to the Paragons but recognize excellence in design and communication on a regional basis at community and technical colleges in each of seven districts.
The Communicator of the Year Award honors a two-year college marketing professional who has demonstrated leadership and ability in college communications.
The Pacesetter of the Year Award recognizes a community college president or CEO who has demonstrated special leadership and support in marketing and public relations.
The Rising Star Award recognizes an up-and-coming communications professional who has demonstrated special creativity and ability in college marketing and PR and shows evidence of a promising future in the field.
The D. Richard Petrizzo Career Service Award honors an NCMPR professional for career accomplishments in college marketing and public relations.
The President's Award is among the highest distinctions given to an individual or organization that has made extraordinary contributions to advancing community colleges on a regional or national basis, particularly in the areas of marketing and public relations.
Professional Development Scholarships are designed to help offset the costs of attending district and national conferences. They're designated for new members, seasoned professionals and those employed at colleges with restricted travel budgets who can demonstrate how they will benefit from attending a conference.
