What did you do before joining Central Community College (CCC)? How did that prepare you for your current role?
Before joining CCC, I worked in marketing operations at Buckle, Inc’s headquarters in Kearney, Nebraska. During my time at Buckle, I gained valuable experience working in marketing on a national scale and communicating with more than 440 retail stores across the country. That experience strengthened both my marketing knowledge and communication skills while teaching me how to manage information across a large organization. Those skills have prepared me well for my role at CCC, where I am responsible for managing and maintaining the college website and ensuring it remains accurate, effective and user-friendly.
What is one of your major accomplishments since starting at CCC?
Serving as the point person for the development of our new college website. I have played a hands-on role throughout the project, from planning and organizing content to building and refining the site itself. This project has required significant coordination, problem-solving and attention to detail across many areas of the college. I am proud of the role I have played in creating a more modern, user-friendly website that better serves our students and community.
What is one of the things you like best about working in higher ed?
Knowing that the work I do can have a real impact on students. Whether I’m working on the website, creating content or helping communicate important information, I enjoy making it easier for students to find what they need and helping them understand the many opportunities available to them. I also appreciate the variety of work I do, as well as the opportunity to be creative while supporting the college’s overall mission.
