Professional development and helpful colleagues

Although I had been working in private higher education communications for a number of years when I joined Renton Technical College, the community and technical college system was new to me. Thankfully, one of the first things I did was join NCMPR, where I discovered a wealth of professional development opportunities and knowledgeable and helpful colleagues from across the region and the country. It’s so helpful to learn from others who have worked within similar colleges and embrace our common missions of access, inclusion and student success. I became involved right away, attending district and national conferences and eventually joining the Programming Committee and serving as a Paragon Award judging coordinator.

My work at RTC and watching our students transform their lives are incredibly rewarding, and the relationships I have built with NCMPR colleagues enhance that work. I look forward to continual growth and learning from you all!
