Drew Cecchini

Drew has been serving as the assistant director of admissions and records for recruitment and outreach at Central Oregon Community College since 2014. Since taking on the position she has shown remarkable leadership in improving and enhancing communications to both prospective students and applicants. Her accomplishments include working collaboratively with consultants and design teams to overhaul prospective student materials by helping design new recruitment brochures, college viewbooks, instructional brochures and promotional posters to name a few. Cecchini co-led a complete redesign of applicant letters, emails and checklists that resulted in attractive and engaging pieces that easily guide students through the next steps of enrollment. When a new residence hall opened on campus in 2015, Cecchini worked as a part of a team to focus communication and marketing efforts of the new facility after a year of floundering occupancy. Her efforts contributed to the overwhelming interest and success in filling the residence hall to capacity. Additionally, Cecchini has made significant contributions to COCC’s website and social media efforts for future and prospective students.

Cecchini has many talents that she brought to both the Admissions and Records and College Relations teams. She has an eye for design and is a naturally creative individual, both of which have lent to her success. Cecchini has grown tremendously in her knowledge of and focus on data to make effective decisions. She is quickly becoming a mature administrator and leader that people trust. Although Drew Cecchini is COCC’s Assistant Director of Admissions and Records and reports to the Director of Admissions/Registrar, she recognizes the tremendous value of collaboration with the College Relations department. She regularly looks for ways to strengthen coordination among these departments to benefit prospective and current students.  

According to her supervisor, Cecchini brings a friendly, authentic approach to all of her interactions. She is known to be a great listener and able to work with a variety of individuals toward common goals. One of her most admirable characteristics is her tireless focus on students. She shows an interest in the success of all students, which is always at the forefront of her thinking. Cecchini has the ability to connect the value of higher education, COCC, and student goals in her creative approach.

Good things are on the horizon for Central Oregon Community College and for Drew Cecchini, NCMPR's District 7 2017 Rising Star!
